On February 1, 2020, God called one of His sweet angels, Maryanne Ellis
home. Maryanne came into the world on September 12, 1964, in Washington, DC, to Jean Bradford (Kearse) and Larry Ellis.
Maryanne, who was also affectionately known as “Peaches”, was born and raised and educated in the DC public school system.
Maryanne was a fun-loving free spirit who loved to sing and enjoyed reminiscing and spending time with her family. She got pleasure helping and giving to others. She enjoyed and loved her nieces and nephews and treated them like they were her own kids.
She loved animals and was always rescuing strays making them her pets, which eventually became part of the family. She was very protective of her family and friends. She kept it real and told it like it was. She loved food, especially her family recipes for soul food like potato and seafood salad, bone fish and was also a seafood connoisseur and loved oysters and crabs.
Her love of music was evident, as she would randomly break out in song, singing old school and R&B and enjoyed attending musical concerts with her loved ones. In her youth, she also liked to dance.
Maryanne leaves to cherish her fiancé, Derrick, her siblings Thomas Jr., Lovetta, Nicole (Corey Sr), Richard Jr., (Tiffany), Darryl, 15 nieces and nephews, Tashameka (Antonio Sr.), Thomas III (Ivelisse) Antoine Jr., Andrew, Sr. , Corey Jr., Victoria, Victor, Vania, Valencia, Moenay, Jaivean, Jada, Jamirah, Zakhar, Jaleel, 8 great-nephews and nieces, Antonio, Sean, Corey III., Carter, Andrew Jr., Caliyah, Ameena and Aubri and a host of relatives and friends.
Maryanne will truly be missed in our hearts but the beautiful music of Maryanne’s new wings, humming over us from above, will forever bring us peace & comfort. Her loving spirit will forever and always be in our memories.
